A Career Of A Pilot - 1170 Words
A Career in The Clouds Since the beginning of time, flight is something that humans have tried to master. Now that we have it figured out, it is considered a luxury. If you are a pilot, you will get to experience this beautiful luxury regularly. As many people are, I have always been fascinated with the idea of flying. Even when I was young I entertained the idea of becoming a pilot. I believe this is a job that will challenge me and help me grow as a person. This paper will explore the job description, requirements, and salary expectation for a pilot. First, a pilotââ¬â¢s job description is very extensive. Firstly, there are many general duties as a pilot. Depending on your specific job as a pilot, the pay is extremely good, which is always a plus to me. I think the job in general and the work environment sound like they would fit me very well. I feel as though I would work best and be most comfortable in a job where I work closely with only a few people. I now know the extent of difficulty this job comes with, but luckily the most difficult aspect is the schooling and not the job itself. In summary, there are many elements in the job description of a pilot. Second, it is important to consider the educational and personal qualifications of being a pilot. To begin, the Occupational Handbook describes what education requirements you need. To be a commercial pilot you will need a high school diploma or the equivalent before you can even begin training; in order to fly for an airline, you will need a bachelorââ¬â¢s degree. As for pilot specific training you will need six certificates: a Student Pilot Certificate, Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot License, Multi-Engine Rating, and an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. Education receiv ed through the military is also highly valued, but not necessary (OCO). Next, there are a few available places to receive pilot training in Kansas.
